HSC Has Started The Production of Its New 2014 Pioneer MUV at The Timmonsville Plant

Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda's subsidiary, Honda of South Carolina (HSC) has started the production of its new 2014 Pioneer multi-utility vehicle (MUV) at the Timmonsville plant in South Carolina, US.

Over the next four years, the company is investing $27m at its Timmonsville plant in order to increase production of the MUVs.

Scheduled to be made available by September 2013, the new all terrain vehicle (ATV) will be available in two models including the Pioneer 700-4 and the Pioneer 700.

The manufacturing facility has a footprint of 535,000sqft that was developed with total investments of about $308m since 2000.

Currently, the facility produces nine ATV models including the FourTrax and SporTrax series along with seven different engines.

With the addition of the new Pioneer, which was designed and engineered by Honda's research and development operations in the US, the company has employed additional 65 workers at the manufacturing plant.

HSC began production of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) in July 1998.
