Cortech Launches New Protective Packaging Paper for Metals

Cortech has introduced new CorShield VpCI-146 reinforced paper, which can be used as a protective packaging for sharp or oddly shaped metals.

The firm’s Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibiting (VpCI) paper is also a better packaging option for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

CorShield VpCI-146 reinforced paper has been developed for packaging metals or finished goods with pointed, oddly shaped, or sharp edges, which will normally puncture non-reinforced papers.

It will protect dry or oiled metals during storage, transit, and overseas shipment, in addition to acting as a barrier to water, oil, and grease.

Available in widths up to 100” (2.5 m), the new paper eliminates the need to stock a variety of papers for all the different types of metals and alloys that need protection

According to the company, the parts protected with CorShield VpCI-146 reinforced paper can be painted, welded, and soldered.

The paper will be used to protect carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, cast iron, aluminum alloys, copper, brass and solder.

It can be used as wrap for single item packaging or interleaving, end closures for shipping tubes, insert-strips for recessed areas in large packages and sheet liners or separators between products

CorShield paper, which can protect sharp coils, wire reels, heavy plate, and bars, will be used to wrap raw and machined forgings and castings, stampings, sheet metal work, springs, bearings, fasteners, tubes, pipes, and nails.

In addition, the paper will protect finished products such as engines, machinery, tools, hardware, appliances, instruments, motors, electrical and electronic components and controls.
