Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer Mitsubishi has recalled 305 vehicles in the US due to a suspension problem
The recall affects 2013 model year Mitsubishi Outlander Sport crossover vehicles manufactured between 17 and 25 January 2013.
The front strut stabilizer link in the vehicles is expected to be improperly welded resulting in separation that may lead to increased difficulty controlling the steering wheel and in some events the vehicle is expected to need longer duration to stop completely.
According to the documents filed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, both the cases are liable to increase the risk of an accident.
Among the vehicles, the company expects that about 120 are affected with the defect and so far three of these vehicles have already undergone the repair process.
Earlier, the Japanese automaker had issued a recall for 4,313 units of the Outlander plug-in hybrids in Japan as well as 17 units of i-MiEVs and 98 Minicab i-MiEVs in Europe and the US, due to the defective batteries.
