Infoway, a provider of certification services, has certified GE Healthcare's Centricity picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) solution.
Centricity PACS is designed to optimize radiologist productivity, enhance clinical value and interoperate with existing electronic medical record systems.
GE Healthcare IT general manager Mike Clarke said receiving a second Canada Health Infoway certification for the company's Centricity PACS solution platform, represents that it can better connect and collaborate to provide better patient care.
Canada Health Infoway president and CEO Richard Alvarez said the certification of GE Healthcare's Centricity PACS system dovetails with Infoway-certified DI-r diagnostic imaging system.
"Digital diagnostic imaging has already played a role in generating significant improvements in access and efficiency, with further gains possible as interoperability increases and implementations mature," Alvarez added.
