Manulife Financial has appointed Craig Bromley as senior executive vice president and general manager for its US Division as well as president of John Hancock Financial Services, effective from 1 September 2012.
Bromley will join the company's Executive Committee and will report to Manulife president and chief executive officer Donald Guloien.
In addition to serving as president and chief executive officer, Bromley currently serves as executive vice president and general manager of Manulife Japans.
In 2004, Bromley led Manulife's merger with John Hancock Financial Services and also held service with Manulife Financial as senior vice president of Business Development and Investor Relations.
Guloien said: "His accomplishments include expanding Manulife Japan's product offerings and distribution channels to create an important competitor in the marketplace."
Bromley takes over from Jim Boyle, who will retire and will remain at John Hancock through the end of this fiscal year in order to facilitate a smooth transition.
