Abbas Memarnejad, responsible person of Iran Customs, said that Iran will terminate car export overseas in next Iranian year (from March in 2013 to March in 2014).
According to ISNA, in the first 9 months in Iranian year (from March 20 to December 20, 2012), Iran totally exported 44,682 passenger cars, with a huge increase of 284% year on year; the total value of exporting cars reached 0.27 billion dollars, up 330% year on year.
Iraq is the main export market of Iranian cars, which occupied 98% of Iranian cars’ total export quantity. Ukraine and Azerbaijan also imported small amount of cars from Iran.
In addition, in September in Iranian year (from November 21 to December 21, 2012), Iranian carmakers totally produced 72,845 cars, up 1.5% compared to 71,732 of August in Iranian year.
