The BMW M3 Pure Coupe has been released with a $125,000 starting price, giving M fans and driving enthusiasts the opportunity to get behind the wheel of genuine Bavarian brilliance for less.
At $30,000 below the standard $155,100 M3, the BMW M3 Pure has had its specification list reworked to focus more on drivers and driving.
This means while the standard car’s keyless entry and start, adaptive headlights, high-beam assist, heated seats, harmon/kardon stereo, six-disc CD changer, and folding mirrors are gone, the Pure package still includes bi-xenon headlights, Professional satellite navigation, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, anti-dazzle rear-view mirror, and front and rear parking sensors. The standard car’s no-cost sunroof option is also binned in favour of the M3 Pure’s carbonfibre roof – a more than reasonable trade off.
Inside, changes include seats trimmed in Anthracite cloth and black leather, black Novillo leather headrests embossed with the BMW M logo, and Titanium Shadow interior trim.
Options on the M3 Pure now fall under a revised pricing structure and include BMW’s M Drive (reduced $700 to $2700), dynamic damper control (reduced $700 to $3300), and Competition Package (reduced $600 to $1800), the latter having to be ordered in conjunction with the previous two. A $1500 option for metallic paint is also added – included on standard M3 models.
BMW Australia managing director Phil Horton said although the BMW M3 Pure Coupe isn’t specifically a limited numbers model, its limited production time means the opportunity won’t be a permanent proposition.
