The Sale of Tata Motors July up 5%

Tata Motors has reported 15% increase in sales (including exports) of commercial and passenger vehicles to 73,491 vehicles during July 2012 compared to same period in 2011.

Domestic sales of the company's commercial and passenger vehicles for July 2012 were 68,627 units reporting an increase of 18% over 57,990 units sold in same period last year; cumulative sales of the company for the fiscal are 262,299 units, an increase of 2% over 256,800 units it sold last year.

Commercial vehicles sales of the company in July 2012 in the domestic market were 42,387 units, an increase of 4% compared to 40,798 vehicles sold in July 2011.

The company posted light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales of 29,601 units, an increase of 19% over 24,962 vehicles sold in July last year; M&HCV sales stood at 12,786 units, a decrease of 19% compared to 15,836 vehicles sold in the same period prior year.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 157,685 units, an increase of 2% over 2011, while cumulative LCV sales are 109,956 units a growth of 19% while M&HCV sales stood at 47,729 units a decrease of 22%.

For the month the company posted export sales of 4,219 units, a decrease of 24%, compared to 5,534 units in May 2011.

The company's cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal stood at 17,935 units, a decrease of 13% compared to 20,657 units, in the same period prior year.
