Brisa Bridgestone Sabanc Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret, an affiliated company of Japanese tire maker Bridgestone, has signed an agreement with Aksaray Province Organized Industrial Zone over the purchase of a site for the construction of a new passenger car radial tire plant in Turkey.
The new plant, which is being established with an investment of JPY28bn ($288.9m), is scheduled to begin operations in January 2018.
Spanning an area of 96 hectares, the plant will have a production capacity of approximately 13,000 tires a day by the second half of 2022.
Established in 1988 as a joint venture with Sabanci Holding, Brisa has implemented a number of business activities closely linked to the market in Turkey. It expects to establish a manufacturing and distribution system to deliver its products to customers.
Bridgestone is a largest tire and rubber company. It offers tires for use in a wide variety of applications, along with a broad range of diversified products, including industrial rubber and chemical products and sporting goods.
