US-based AMF Bakery Systems has completed the acquisition of Tromp Bakery Equipment, a supplier of baking equipment based in Gorinchem, The Netherlands.
Tromp designs and manufactures sheeting lines for pie, pizza, pastry, and bread bakers worldwide.
AMF president Ken Newsome said that as industrial bakers are exploring sheeting as part of their approach to bread make up, the acquisition offers AMF a leading edge technology to help its traditional customers.
"This strategic addition enables us to leverage our position as a global leader in high-speed bread and bun bakery systems and expand our offering into the specialty bakery sector," Newsome added.
Bas Tromp, founder of Tromp, will continue as president.
AMF, which is owned by Markel Ventures, is a manufacturer of high speed bakery equipment. It offers automated bakery solutions including dough mixing, dividing, make-up, proofing, baking, cooling, packaging, basket/case loading, and product distribution.
