US based automotive parts supplier Dana Holding has secured an order to supply Spicer Pro-40 tandem axles for the TMC Transportation's vehicles.
The Spicer Pro-40, which belongs to heavy-duty 40,000lb tandem drive axle family, will be used in the 1,500 Peterbilt 579 on-highway trucks under a replacement schedule by TMC Transportation.
Dana Commercial Vehicle Driveline Technologies president Pat D'Eramo said the company designed the Spicer Pro-40 axle for astute fleet to offer the weight savings that reduce fuel costs without sacrificing performance and reliability.
"TMC Transportation is one of the top carriers in North America, and their commitment to the Spicer Pro-40 axle provides strong validation for our approach," D'Eramo said.
Since past ten years, TMC has been using SPL 250 driveshafts as well as SPL 170 inter-axle shafts and LMS hubs on its trucks.
Additionally, TMC Transportation is road-testing Dana's new all-aluminum Spicer Diamond Series driveshaft.
