Brookstone, the multichannel specialty retailer and product development company, yesterday announced the Brookstone Scanner Mouse - the computer mouse that features a built-in scanner that helps save space and time while providing flexibility in the scanned files.
Scanning documents and photos is simple and easy. While holding the Smart Scan button on the left side of the mouse, users freely glide the mouse over the document in any pattern and watch as the image is stitched together on the screen.

Images can be saved as a variety of files including JPEG, TIFF, PNG, BMP, XLS, DOC and PDF which can be directly uploaded to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or email. Furthermore, LG's Optical Character Recognition technology automatically converts scanned text to editable Microsoft Word or Excel files. Scanned images and text also can be integrated easily with the application Evernote.
Unlike traditional scanners that are limited by frame size, the Brookstone Scanner Mouse scans documents and images up to 16.5" x 11.7" in high-resolution 320 dpi. The accompanying software includes convenient editing functions including contrast, brightness, zoom, resize, rotate and crop.
When not doubling as a scanner, the Brookstone Scanner Mouse can be used as an everyday point-and-click computer mouse with a durable dual laser sensor, track wheel, smooth motions, and a comfortable grip.
