Tyson Foods Commits to Make Antibiotic-Free Chicken Products

American food giant Tyson Foods has made a commitment to use only chicken with “no antibiotics ever” (NAE) in its consumer branded products.

The commitment was announced by Tyson Foods president and CEO Tom Hayes while revealing on how the company will set the course for the future of food during the 2017 Consumer Analyst Group of New York (CAGNY) Conference.

Hayes said: "The purpose of our company is to raise the world’s expectations for how much good food can do, and we’re uniquely positioned to deliver just that.”

Tyson Foods will look to expand its range of protein-packed brands besides distributing sustainable food at scale.

In this regard, the Arkansas food company will continue putting money on innovation to introduce a broad variety of new products. This move will be to address consumer’s requirements of fresh food, protein rich and in flexible forms that can be had conveniently right through the day.

Tyson Foods had unveiled a dozen new products as part of its drive towards an increased sustainable food system.

The innovations in this connection will look to create new solutions for delivering food that is healthier than before made from healthier animals besides having healthier workplaces and environment.

Tyson Foods said that it sees a long-term scope to grow and sustainably raise profits.

Hayes added: "For us, sustainability isn't a single issue; it's about focusing on multiple dimensions in order to advance the whole.

"We will use our reach, capabilities and resources to drive positive change at a scale we believe no other company can match."

Some of its holistic sustainability plans include expansion of is NAE chicken products, cut down workplace injuries and illness by 15% over year, and look for strategic alliances for science-based sustainability. It also plans to carry on with audit of farms by third party to endorse humane treatment of chickens.

Apart from that, Tyson Foods will improve the raising methods of chickens through a concept farm.
