2,100 Vehicles to Brazilian Government Is Delivered by Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, a subsidiary of German automaker Daimler, has secured an order from the Brazilian government to deliver over 2,100 vehicles which will be deployed in various areas.

As per the order, Mercedes-Benz will deliver over 1,700 Atego trucks for the Brazilian Ministry of Defence and 400 Sprinters, which will be used as ambulance vehicles, for the Ministry of Health in the Servico de Atendimento Movel de Urgencia program.

The delivery of the vehicles from Mercedes-Benz do Brasil is scheduled to be completed by 2013.

Daimler board of management member responsible for Daimler Trucks and Daimler Buses Andreas Renschler said, "With an expected volume of over 200,000 vehicles sold in the long run, the Brazilian market will take the position as the fourth largest market for medium- and heavy-duty trucks in the world."

Daimler operates a plant facility in Sao Bernardo do Campo which produces trucks, bus chassis and aggregate systems including motors, transmissions and axles as well as truck driver cabs in one location.
