KBA's majority takeover of Kammann Maschinenbau in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany, sees the firm enter the directly decorating luxury glass packaging sector.
Along with screen-printing systems, Kammann's flexible transport systems can also be equipped with hot-stamping, inkjet and other decorating processes
Additionally, the German press manufacturer has entered the Italian print market for flexible packaging with the acquisition of press manufacturer Flexotecnica based in Tavazzano.
Flexotecnica develops, builds, distributes and services flexo presses for printing on flexible packaging materials.
Both companies have a total of 280 employees in development and engineering, assembly, sales and service.
The two new KBA subsidiaries will be renamed KBA-Kammann and KBA-Flexotecnica next year.
In August KBA reported a €10m second quarter pre-tax profit on the back of strong performances from its packaging printing division.
