Nissan Unveils 2016 Model of Altima

Nissan has unveiled the 2016 Altima, which has been given a new design and technical upgrades.

The car is a part of the company's new design language, which formed the base of the new versions of Maxima and Murano.

The new Altima has been given the "Energetic Flow" exterior styling theme and "Gliding Wing" interior layout.

On the front it features new fascia, bumper, fenders, hood and boomerang-shape headlights.

Compared to its predecessor, 2015 Altima, the latest version has a wide, deeply sculpted lower bumper, integrated fog lights (SR, SV and SL models) and prominent chrome-trimmed grille.

The rear portion of the new version features a new sculpted bumper with a dark lower accent and lower, wider boomerang-shaped combination lights along with backup lights.

2016 Altima offers 10% improvement in coefficient of drag when compared to its predecessor, a part of which is due to addition of an active grille shutter, underfloor aero cover additions, and the new front and rear fascia, and windshield designs.

Under the hood, Nissan has not made any major changes to the vehicle as it still features V6 engine capable of producing 270 horsepower and users will have an option to choose between a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder or a 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine.

According to reports, the 2.5 models can go 27 miles on a gallon of gas in the city and 39 mpg on the highway.

Nissan has revamped the C-stack, which will now be available in 5.0-inch and 7.0-inch displays for NissanConnectSM with Mobile Apps and available NissanConnect Navigation with Mobile Apps.

Nissan executive design director Mamoru Aoki said: "As the best-selling vehicle in the Nissan lineup, it's important that Altima exemplifies 'Nissan-ness' inside and out.

"With its fresh new look, aggressive SR model and strong connection to our all-new Murano and Maxima, the new Altima continues to stand out in a very competitive marketplace."
