UK-based Wellness Foods is said to be mulling a possible sale of its Rowse Honey business, a leading supplier of honey in the UK.
According to media reports, the company has hired investment bank Rothschild to advise on the possible sale of the business.
Established in 2005, Wellness Foods is supported by Irish investors John Magnier and JP McManus.
Wellness Foods acquired Rowse for €60m in 2006. The upmarket food company also invested about €75m to acquire Sloaney muesli maker Dorset Cereal and currently owns Stream Foods and fruit juice brand Grove.
Bank of Scotland, Bank of Ireland, AIB (UK) are the major shareholders of the health food firm.
