Premium cake brand, Kate’s Cakes, has launched its new ‘Cake Squares’ product range at Tesco stores in the UK.
The homemade-style cakes are available in three flavours.
These include Chocolate Fudge Cake, a rich chocolate cake, topped with buttercream and decorated with double chocolate curls;Classic Lemon Drizzle Cake, combining a lemon sponge, drizzled with lemon juice and hand finished with sugar pearls and Millionaire Shortbread; and all butter shortbread with a generous layer of gooey caramel, topped with thick milk chocolate.
Commenting on the launch, Kate's' Cakes product manager Stacey Moore said: "We are investing in the premium sector of the cake market with our high quality product which will boost the sector as a result of an increase in demand.
"The small cakes market experienced a 4.3% increase YOY*, clearly demonstrating the strength of the sector and we feel there's a real opportunity to grow the market even further and fill a gap for premium small cakes. The three variants mean there's something for everyone and they suit a number of occasions from lunchtime to the perfect accompaniment to relaxing at home with a cup of tea."
