Renault is planning to collaborate with French investment and industrial holding group Bollore to strengthen its presence in the electric car market.
The collaboration would cover the use of charging stations and batteries, reported Reuters citing the Le Figaro newspaper.
In addition, Renault may develop a car based on Bollore's lithium-metal-polymer technology.
Bollore manufactures the Bollore Bluecar, a small four-seat, three-door electric car. Bolloré Bluecar is the leading selling highway-capable electric car in France in 2012, and is being employed for the electric car-sharing scheme, Autolib, in France.
Meanwhile, Renault has promoted two senior managers to head newly formed units and jointly assume the duties of chief operating officer Carlos Tavares, who stepped down last month.
Jerome Stoll, who was in charge of sales and marketing as well as light commercial vehicles, will become chief performance officer, heading the unit focused on sales. Thierry Bollore, formerly in charge of manufacturing and supply chain, has been appointed as the chief competitive officer, and will oversee the new unit focused on design and production.
