British baking firm Warburtons is set to shut down its Blackpool bakery facility,a move that is expected to result in 55 job losses.
Production at the facility will be suspended by the end of January.Factors such as challenging economic environment and decreased household spending have forced the company to take this decision.
The changes to the business is expected to enable the bakery brand to maximize its production capacity and manufacture products more efficiently.
Warburtons employs about 4,500 employees in 12 bakeries and 13 depots across the UK,and produces more than two million bakery products per day.
