France's manufacturing output in March this year decreased by 0.7 percent month on month, after an upward trend which had begun in October 2013, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).
In March, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.9 percent month on month, after a month-on-month increase of 1.5 percent in February. Meanwhile, in the first quarter of this year the country's production in the given sector increased by 1.5 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in March production of the France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a decrease of 2.3 percent on month-on-month basis after a 1.1 percent month-on-month increase recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry decreased by 0.5 percent month on month in March, after an increase of 0.7 percent in February compared to January.
