Mercedes-Benz has introduced S-Class Cabriolet, the company's sixth variant of the current S-Class family and the first open-top luxury four-seater car from the brand since 1971.
It features a distinctive, sensual and exclusive design, and is equipped with enhanced technology of the S-Class, which includes intelligent climate control for convertibles.
The car features V8 engine of the S 500 Cabrio that is capable of generating 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque from 1800 rpm, with CO2 emissions of 199 g/km.
It also comes with 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission supports that provide a dynamic and a fuel-saving driving style.
Two variants of the car will be available which would include a rear-wheel drive (as RHD version only) and the other with a performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive (as LHD version).
For passenger protection, the German automaker has installed systems capable of detecting an impending danger of the vehicle rolling over where the airbag control unit will send a corresponding signal to the roll over protection system, helping avoid such situation.
The car is set to make its public debut at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show this month along with S 63 4MATIC Cabriolet.
