Malaysia-based Petronas Chemical which had shutdown its No-2 methanol plant owing to technical issues has restarted the plant on March 4.
Speaking to fibre2fashion, a company official said, “We had shut down the No-2 methanol plant on February 28, due to technical problems. We have now restarted the plant on March 4.”
The No-2 methanol plant has a production capacity of 1.7 million tons per annum, while the No-1 methanol plant has a capacity of 700,000 tons per year.
He also added that the No-1 methanol plant is currently operating at 98 percent capacity rates.
