Surya will introduce several exciting collections from maverick designer Mike Farrell at the Las Vegas Market. Known for a quirky, out-of-the-box design sensibility, Farrell translates everyday items such as bicycles, lines, letters and numbers into interesting and eye-catching constructions that artfully showcase his witty and playful style. The introductions will build upon the designer’s 2011 debut of hand tufted rugs, and will include a range of indoor-outdoor rugs, new hand tufted designs and coordinating pillows.
“I want to reflect life as I see it – chaotic, individual, colorful – and to make things that spark conversation and laughter,” said Farrell. “I am fired up about my second collaboration with Surya and the chance to bring my inspirations to life in statement-making rugs and pillows that invite fun and reverie into urban living spaces. Like me, Surya is always evolving and reinventing itself to introduce cutting edge products that raise the bar for design – and that makes for a great synergy.”

Las Vegas Market attendees are invited to a special presentation by the designer, titled “Live Love Coffee: A Journey with Mike Farrell,” on January 27 in Surya’s showroom – LVM C400. A self-described nomad who has traveled to more than 30 countries and 500 cities, Farrell will provide tips for unlocking creativity and share his inspiration, unconventional designs and bold new rug and pillow collections for Surya. Coffee will be served during the casual and ‘guaranteed to be stimulating’ presentation. Surya’s showroom celebration will kick off later in the afternoon beginning at 5 p.m.
Farrell’s latest designs, along with hundreds of other introductions across a range of home accessories categories, will be on display in the Surya showroom, which will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
