Germany-based Bosch Packaging Technology has unveiled the new Pack 301 ID (Inverted Dwell) horizontal flow wrapper, which provides secure packaging and hermetic seals.
Said to be the latest addition to the company's Pack Series of horizontal flow wrappers, the new Pack 301 ID is also available in combination with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). It can be used to pack products such as fresh produce, meat and cheese.
The machine's inverted design and the long-dwell sealing technology that allows for sealing times of up to one second is said to make it suitable for soft, sticky, flexible or difficult-to-handle products that require hermetic sealing for a broad format range.
According to Bosch, the sealing technology results in hermetic packages for extended product shelf life and safety, and the sealing time is independent of the machine's speed.
Pack 301's independent temperature control available on the top and bottom sealing jaws is claimed to accommodate a range of film qualities and further contributes to high seal quality as well as consistency.
The inverted design of the machine transports products on top of the film from the folding box through the cutting head so as to ensure secure product handling, while minimizing jams.
The machine can be integrated with a variety of infeeds such as robotic, flighted and belt feeders, and can be configured to accommodate different floor space requirements.
Designed based on the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concept, the Pack 301 ID can be integrated with various infeeds such as robotic, flighted and belt feeders. It can also be configured to accommodate different floor space requirements.
Bosch Packaging Technology product manager Leon Arkesteijn said the machine's longer sealing time, along with TCO-enhancing benefits and operator-friendly features meet the requirements of manufacturers for efficiency as well as product safety.
"As consumer focus on product safety intensifies, technologies like the Pack 301 ID for hermetic sealing are in demand," Arkesteijn added.
