Thomas Mende Asked for Time to Reflect Before Klausner Potentially Signed a Deal

At a meeting with representatives of the Board of Suwannee County on 25 September 2012,Thomas Mende, the president of Klausner Trading USA,asked for time to reflect before Klausner potentially signed a deal to bring a sawmill to the County. The Suwannee Democrat newspaper quoted lawyer Ben Brooks from the Atlanta-based law firm Gambrell&Russell, which represents Klausner in the US,as making comments to this effect.Mr Brooks confirmed that Klausner was looking at other sawmill locations in the southern US.Official documents indicate that these mills are in Raleigh,North Carolina and Rowesville,South Carolina.Klausner has secured a permit required under emissions law that would be needed to operate a sawmill in Raleigh. The permit application for Rowesville has been in the final disclosure phase since 21 September.Klausner apparently wants to wait and see which state and county offers the most attractive package for the sawmill.
