Land Rover has previewed the its 2016 Range Rover Evoque, the redesigned version of Evoque SUV, ahead of its official unveiling at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The British automaker has revamped the design, introduced new features and technologies to make it appealing to its customers.
The SUV is powered by aluminium Ingenium diesel TD4 engine which is available in two power output options consisting of 150PS and 180PS.
The 150PS engine offers fuel economy of up to 68mpg or 4.2l/100km and the 180PS unit offers 59mpg of fuel economy.
According to Land Rover, the engine is 20-30kg lighter than its predecessor, and it is one of the most efficient engine produced by the company.
2016 Evoque will also be offered in a 240PS Si4 petrol engine, capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 7.6 seconds.
On the exterior, the SUV features wider tow-eye cover that is designed to enhance the new front bumper design.
It also features enlarged air intakes, new grille designs, two horizontal bars and a new fine-mesh grille pattern.
The SUV is equipped with full-LED adaptive headlamps for better visibility during night, a new tailgate spoiler with LED rear brake light, new roof fins with integrated 3G antenna to provide better mobile phone signal.
The technological improvements include, eight-inch InControl Touch touchscreen infotainment system, which facilitates users to swipe between screens like a smartphone.
It also includes six-speaker stereo system, InControl Touch Plus, and hands-free tailgate function; which will allow users to open and close the tailgate by waving beneath the rear bumper.
The safety feature in the 2016 Range Rover Evoque includes Lane-Keeping Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and Attention Assist Estimation, which is capable of monitoring steering inputs, and gives out Audible alarms and visual warnings signal when drowsiness is detected in the driver.
Land Rover CEO Gerry McGovern said: "The Range Rover Evoque first established and then dominated the luxury compact SUV sector generating worldwide acclaim and sales success.
"Our challenge has been to evolve the Evoque design without diluting its distinctive character."
