ChargePoint will install seven units of networked electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for the Lanier Parking Solutions in Atlanta, US.
Locations of the EV charging stations include Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead, which are expected to complement the city's effort to increase the usage of the EVs.
ChargePoint president and CEO Pat Romano said that the city's EV infrastructure has to be ready to accommodate the growth as electric vehicles become more attractive alternative amid climbing gas prices.
"Atlanta is taking the lead to proactively provide EV charging technology that will allow the city to accommodate future demand, and ChargePoint is proud to partner with Atlanta and other cities across the country to make this EV growth feasible," Romano added.
The company also offers the service of using the ChargePoint mobile phone applications for iPhone and Android to locate stations and trace them.
The city has over 750 electric and electric hybrid vehicles and automakers are planning to introduce over ten new models in 2013.
