According to the Brazilian steel distributors association (Inda), its members’ steel sales totaled 317,900 tons in February, falling by 7.5% year on year and down by 13.8% from a month ago. In the first two months of this year, its members’ steel sales amounted to 686,700 tons, down by 1.9% year on year. At the end of February, Inda’s distributors’ steel stocks totaled 970,400 tons, down by 3.5% year on year while rising by 2.4% from a month ago. Besides, Inda’s distributors purchased around 340,300 tons of steel from steel producers in February, decreasing by 3.7% year on year and falling by 8.7% from a month ago. In the first two months of 2013, the distributors purchase 713,000 tons of steel, up by 1.1% year on year.
