During the January-May 2012 period, the carmaker's average share of the European market was approximately 4%, over 3.7% during the same period in 2011.

The company has reported the sales of about 52,354 vehicles in May 2012 in Europe, which were up by 10,200 units when compared to the same period in 2011.

Nissan Europe Sales vice president Guillaume Cartier said, "It's clear that overall demand across Europe continues to be impacted by wider financial uncertainty, particularly in the south of the region."
