AATCC has won yet another Tabbie award, this time for an in-depth feature article on biomedical implantables published in the September/October 2012 issue of AATCC Review, written by the association’s Features Editor, Glenna Musante.
The annual Tabbie Awards are sponsored by Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI). Nearly 500 editorial and design entries from around the globe were entered in the 2013 contest.
Said Musante, “Biomedical implantables represents a new scientific frontier for the textile and medical sectors and an area where the world will hopefully see continued innovation.
"This field also involves the unexpected synthesis of engineering, nano-science, medicine, and traditional textile manufacturing process, and from this perspective was a fascinating story to research and write.”
“Life-Saving Fibers,” won an Honorary Mention and represents the Association’s 15th award for writing or publication design.
Jack Daniels, AATCC Executive Vice President, stated of this latest award, “AATCC continues to strive to provide our members with informative editorial content to help them stay abreast of today’s advanced textile technology. Recognition by Trade Association Business Publications International with this award for Glenna’s article is a positive sign that we remain on the right track.”
As well as publishing original, in-depth features on major topics of interest to professionals in the textile, apparel, and related industries, AATCC Review also contains industry white papers, and a peer-reviewed scientific journal section, as well as AATCC news and information.
Launching in January of 2014 will be a sister publication, the AATCC Journal of Research, exclusively for peer-reviewed research papers.
