London based underwriter Aviva has selected Khor Seng as the new CEO of Aviva Asia, effective from 8 March 2013, to expand its businesses in the region.
Seng, who joins the British insurer from AIA, will be based in Singapore and report to Mark Wilson, Aviva CEO.
Commenting on the appointment, Wilson said that Seng's experience in Asia and the requisite market and cultural knowledge will help the company to strengthen its footprint in the region.
While working with AIA, he was chief executive and managing director of the company's Malaysian business and regional executive accountable for various AIA's South East Asian markets.
Having joined AIA in 2006, Seng worked as senior vice president and deputy general manager. In September 2008, he was appointed as CEO and md of American International Assurance (Malaysia).
Prior to joining AIA, Seng served as a president & CEO of Manulife Insurance (Malaysia).
The underwriter trades in eight markets in Asia including India, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Serving 43 million customers, Aviva delivers life insurance, general insurance and asset management businesses, savings and investment products.
