Diversified paper products manufacturer and distributor in North China Orient Paper has commenced the process of finalizing the renovation plan on its 150,000 tons per year (tpa) corrugating medium production line.
The machine's width will be expanded to 5.6m from 3.2m with a new production capacity of 250,000 tpa.
Orient Paper expects to sign the paper machine construction contract with an equipment supplier once the layout design is finalized later in March 2013.
The company is also preparing for the upcoming comprehensive environmental protection inspection, which is part of a large-scale pollution inspection conducted by the local Xushui County government.
According to Orient Paper, the inspection is in response to a series of environmental pollution incidents and public health crises in North China in recent months.
Orient Paper chairman and chief executive officer Zhenyong Liu said the ongoing tissue paper and production line renovation projects are set to bring further growth to its business.
"We will fully cooperate with the government's inspection and are confident that we will be able to comply with all their rigorous tests," Liu said.
