American automaker Chrysler Group has issued a voluntary recall on 5,664 Ram ProMaster vehicles of certain model year 2014 in the US over brake hose damage.
The affected vehicles were manufactured from 1 July 2013, through 15 November 2013. According to the company, during manufacturing, a tool may have damaged one of the brake hoses which may lead to the leakage of brake fluid from the brake hose.
Brake fluid leakage will result in reduction of brake performance. This will in turn lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers of the carmaker will inspect and replace the brake hoses free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in March 2014 and Chrysler will notify owners of the affected vehicles regarding the recall.
Last month, Chrysler Group also issued a voluntary recall on 7,935 Ram ProMaster vehicles of certain model year 2014 in the US over a problem with the vehicle speed control.
