FTC Has Introduced Tms-Pilot

US-based Food Technology Corporation (FTC) has introduced TMS-Pilot – its new food texture analyzer - at the Institute of Food Technologists Exhibition in US.

According to the company, the new TMS-Pilot texture analyzer, which is a portable and mid-range system, enables quick and easy texture testing of food products such as baked goods, confectionery items, dairy products, fruits, vegetables and snacks by unskilled operators.

This new texture analyzer is controlled by an easy-to-use LCD Touch Screen and loadcells can be interchanged in a little time. It can also accommodate many of the company's test probe and fixture range.

Commenting on the development, FTC president Shirl Lakeway Jr said that the company has launched the new TMS-Pilot in response to the need of a mid-range food texture testing system.

"There are many customers that require only the ability to run a few, routine texture tests on their products. The Pilot offers a very affordable and easy to use alternative for these clients," added Lakeway Jr.

In addition, test methods, including breaking, snapping, tension, shearing, bulk analysis, compression, penetration and extrusion tests can be easily performed by the analyzer.

Food Technologists Exhibition (IFT) is being held at McCormick Place, in South Chicago, Illinois.
