Corbion Purac is expanding its clean label ingredients line Verdad Avanta with the addition of Verdad Avanta C100, a powder formulation that claims to provide 90-120 days of Listeria control as well as extend shelf life for natural uncured meats.

The latest addition to this line, Verdad Avanta C100, is designed to provide meat and poultry processors with Listeria control, cured meat color, convenience, yield improvement, and eliminate the need to clean frequently, while retaining the clean labels and taste that consumers expect, the company claims.
Corbion Purac senior business development manager Tom Rourke said: "With Verdad Avanta C100, our customers can provide uncured deli meats, hotdogs, bologna and sausages that taste great and stay fresh longer with ingredient labels consumers understand.
"The labeling requirements for Verdad Avanta C100 are vinegar and celery powder, natural ingredients that consumers appreciate."
Verdad Avanta F100 and Verdad Avanta Y100 are the other clean label solutions in the company's Purac's Verdad range.
Verdad Avanta F100 has been developed for fresh ground meats and claims to extend shelf life up to 10 days with strong inhibitory effect against Salmonella spp. in fresh chicken sausages.
Verdad Avanta Y100 intends to extend freshness of ready-to-eat meals and claims to offer more than 120 odd days of listeria control, while also enhancing cook yield from 4% to 10% based on application.
Corbion's clean label baking solutions include egg replacers, gluten reduction, non-GMO products, non-PHO emulsifiers, all of which can be applied in cakes, sweet dough, tortillas and wraps, white and wheat breads, frozen dough, bagels, pizza and flatbreads, and English muffins, the company's website states.
