Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has revealed a plan to recall 18,352 vehicles including Acura RSX and Honda S2000 in the US, over a problem in the brake booster.
The recall affects 5,239 units of the Honda S2000 vehicles from the 2006-2007 model years and 13,113 units of the Acura RSX vehicles from the 2006 model year.
Brake booster components in the vehicles are suspected to have been produced outside of the original specifications due to a manufacturing error that may lead to decrease the brake assistance over time, leading to increased risk of a crash.
According to the company, it will inspect and replace the brake booster in these vehicles if required and will issue the recall in mid-July 2013.
The company claims that no crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue.
Earlier, the manufacturer had recalled 43,782 units of 2012-2013 model year Fit Sport vehicles in the US, due to a problem in the vehicle stability assist system software.
