Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA), an Indiana-based producer of Subaru Outback, Legacy, and Tribeca line of vehicles, is planning to invest $75m in expanding its Lafayette plant in central Indiana.
The company's move follows to increase the production of Outback and Legacy models and further increase the plant's production capacity by offering more 100 jobs.
Construction on the 52,000ft2 facility is expected to begin this summer, which will further facilitate to manufacture 180,000 vehicles a year without overtime work, marking a rise of 24,000 vehicles.
Indiana Economic Development has supported Subaru's plan by offering up to $950,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants on the company's job creation strategy.
