The first National Youth Games opened in the Haixia Olympic Sports Center in the capital city of China's Fujian Province in the afternoon of October 18. The stadium housing 50,000 people turned into a sea of joy. However, 690 grid workers in or out of the stadium had no time to enjoy the ceremony. They were focusing on securing power supply for the games.

SGCC attached great importance to supply power for the games and required SGCC Fujian Electric Power Company to do a good job. Emergency evaluation was carried out on the company in advance to conduct field investigations on related lines, substations and the stadium and ensure safe and stable power supply for the games.

On the day of the opening ceremony, 2,533 employees from Fujian Electric Power Company were on standby for emergency repair. The power supply protection command system was in smooth operation and the power grid was stable. The power supply facilities in the stadium and other important venues were running smoothly. There were no power fluctuations for this key event with no mistake and no complaint. SGCC successfully ensured reliable power supply for the opening ceremony of the National Youth Games.

The 1st National Youth Games were a comprehensive sport event of the highest level, largest scale and strongest influence hosted by Fujian Province over the years. To ensure solid power supply for the event, SGCC Fujian Electric Power Company set up a power supply leading group headed by the general manager, administrating NYG Office and 8 professional teams to communicate with NYG organizing committee. An overall work plan for power supply was formulated for the organizing committee and the power supply companies. The company also organized related units to formulate the power supply plan and emergency plan at four levels, namely, the station, power line, household and spot. It broke down 51 tasks and set up a 30-day action plan. Moreover, it formulated two power supply technical standards with 22 indicators for the supply side and the stadium side. Fuzhou Power Supply Company, responsible for supplying power for the main venue, worked out a monthly work schedule starting from the time the games were opened. A specific task was assigned to a specific person, responsible for equipment O&M and emergency management, etc.

SGCC Fujian Electric Power established an operation and command mechanism for the games, comprising command and execution, with four supporting systems, namely, grid operation, safe power consumption at venues, emergency power repair and comprehensive support. Drills were carried out. It was required that one venue had one plan and one spot had one plan. The company compiled a security manual for VIP power consumption of the games and directed the stadium to compile its own power supply plan. Before that, the company conducted three dragnet investigations and management, eliminating 285 hazards on the supply side and 513 hazards on the customer side.

During the National Youth Games, SGCC Fujian Electric Power Company prioritized the safe power use for 201 VIPs, including the competition venues, training sites, and hotels, reinforcing power supply security for 146 substations and 601 transmission and transformation lines.
