Japanese automaker Toyota has unveiled the new 2014 Corolla, 11th generation version of its Corolla Sedan in the US.
Available in four grades including L, LE, S, and the new LE Eco grade, the new vehicle will be made available in two engine variants, both of which will be 1.8L all-aluminum four-cylinder engines.
The L, LE, and S grades of the sedan will be powered by the 2ZR-FE four cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine with dual variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) that generates an output of 132hp at 6000rpm and 128lbft of torque at 4400rpm.
The new LE Eco grade will be equipped with 2ZR-FAE four cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine with valvematic that delivers an output of 140hp at 6100 rpm and torque of 126lbft at 4000rpm.
All the grades of the sedan are equipped with the seven-speed continuously variable transmission intelligent-shift (CVTi-S) transmission that comes with new features that are claimed to improve its efficiency and driving performance with discrete shift points.
The new 2014 Corolla comes with LED low-beam headlamps with daytime running lights, in-glass AM/FM antenna, 60/40 split fold-down rear seat, power door locks with automatic locking feature, power windows, , standard Bluetooth connectivity and eight airbags.
Features of the vehicle include smart key system on front doors and trunk with push button start, three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters and audio controls, multi-information display, Bluetooth hands-free phone voice-command controls and heated front seats.
