Creekstone Farms Premium Beef has formed a joint venture with California-based beef producer Pasture One to expand its product line.
The joint venture which features a production and sales relationship between the companies will help Pasture One in increasing its distribution capabilities.
Under the new partnership, while Creekstone Farms will be responsibe for Pasture One’s cattle processing, the sales staff of both the companies will focus on boxed beef product sales.
The grass-fed beef product range of Pasture One will join Creekstone’s existing product line which includes conventionally raised/fed beef, non-GMO raised and fed beef and antibiotic-free beef.
Creekstone Farms sales and marketing vice president Jim Rogers said: “The Pasture One line of grass-fed beef complements our current product offerings while extending the depth of our variety with a beef product that our customers are looking for.
“We were looking for a great quality, consistent grass-fed program and found it with Pasture One.”
Pasture One will be completely moving its production to a processing facility of Creekstone Farms located in Arkansas City, Kansas.
Pasture One CEO Peter Hausin said that Creekstone Farms has made a reputation for quality humane animal treatment besides having a stellar food safety record at the Arkansas facility.
Hausin added: “The Temple Grandin designed facility and third-party humane certifications were exactly what we were looking for in a processor for our cattle. Creekstone Farms is well-aligned with the Pasture One mission.”
In January, Creekstone Farms Premium Beef secured Certified Humane certification for its Natural Black Angus Beef product line from the Humane Farm Animal Care.
Owned by Sun Capital Partners, the Kansas based Creekstone Farms exports its products to Europe, Latin America and Asia.
