Coca-Cola Amatil has agreed to acquire all intellectual property and worldwide trademarks of Fijian brewer Vonu Beer.

This transaction will enable Coca Cola to offer hand-crafted Vonu Pure Lager in Australia and New Zealand starting late 2013.

It will also strengthen the cola giant's beer business, as it is planning to re-enter Australian and New Zealand beer and cider market in December 2013.

Coca-Cola has offered NZD5m ($4.08m) for the rights to brew the Fijian beer and is planning to invest F$30 ($16.2m) in the plant and associated equipment.

Besides this, the company has also signed a 50-50 joint venture with Yellow Tail winemaker Casella to develop and distribute a range of international beers owned by Molson Coors in early 2013.

It will introduce Molson Coors' brands such as Carling, Coors Light and Blue Moon, and now Vonu Premium Lager to Australia and New Zealand on 16 December 2013.
