US-based Turenne PharMedCo has selected Crocus Medical’s Medication Detection Machine (MDM) as a key element in its RightMed campaign.
The automation tool MDM has been designed to aid in the verification process of packaged medications and is ideal for any hospital or long term care pharmacy using automated packaging machines to produce multidose cellophane pouches.
According to Crocus Medical, the tool verifies the shape, quantity and color of each medication dispensed in each pouch in seconds and stores an image of each pouch digitally for future recollection.
MDM also reports on all aspects of the pouch packaging process and cuts and winds the pouches as needed.
Turenne PharMedCo provides pharmacy services to over 5,000 residents in nursing and assisted living facilities and other residential institutions in Alabama and Tennessee.
