The government of Delhi, India’s capital, on 11 September 2012 has taken a decision to impose a blanket ban on the manufacture, sale, storage and use of plastic bags in the city.
The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting presided over by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, according to India Today.
According to the government officials, the use of plastic cover or pouch to pack magazines, invitation cards, and greeting cards will also be prohibited.
