US based natural gas fuel storage systems manufacturer Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide has secured a $1m fuel storage development and integration contract from a multi-national company.
Under the deal, the manufacturer will develop a new natural gas storage system and use it to upgrade a natural gas truck with the new high capacity fuel storage technology.
The fuel system packaging, vehicle integration and control system development will be carried out at the Quantum's Advanced Vehicle Concepts Center in Lake Forest, California in the US.
Quantum president and CEO Brian Olson said the company is pleased to be working on the next generation range-enhancing storage technologies while scaling up production of its Q-Lite carbon-composite natural gas tanks.
"Our natural gas technology and commercialization team continues to be engaged in advancing compressed natural gas storage technology to bring the most value to our customers and the market," Olson added.
Quantum is a producer of the compressed natural gas storage tanks and supplies them to truck and automotive OEMs and aftermarket and OEM truck integrators.
