IMBA is holding its biennial World Summit in its home state of Colorado next year, in Steamboat Springs.
The get-together is planned for Aug. 20-24, 2014. It brings together mountain bike enthusiasts, volunteers, trail builders, bike industry representatives, land managers and government officials from across the U.S. and around the world.
IMBA chose Steamboat Springs from a pool of 16 proposals from mountain biking destinations across the country. Additional details, including a call for conference presentations and early registration, will be made available in January.
"The 2012 World Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico, set the bar pretty high," said Terry Breheny, IMBA's conference director. "I'm confident our staff and the community in Steamboat are up to the challenge. It will be great fun to bring the conference to IMBA's back yard and showcase a Colorado destination, especially for our international delegates."
