Houston Business Journal reported that Trinity Steel Fabricators Inc a Houston company that has primarily worked in structural steel fabrication, has acquired Houston-based Triton Vessel Manufacture. The acquisition will allow Triton to enter into the vessel manufacturing and fabrication market.
Mr Bill Weaver CFO of Triton said that “We feel like this is going to put us into a whole new line of work. Based on what we’ve seen and what our customers have mentioned to us, this is an area of interest to us.”
Most of Triton’s work is in the oil and gas industry, in which it produces vessels such as gas tanks. Because Trinity has a strong presence in oil and gas-related structural steel projects, Weaver said the company’s acquisition will help provide more services to existing and new customers. Trinity already provides steel cutting, drilling, welding, punching, burning and searing services.
Trinity has already consolidated Triton’s approximately 12 employees into its existing Tomball facility. With the acquisition, Trinity will have about 135 employees, Weaver said.
