ARTS Brings Innovative and Cutting-Edge Technologie That Retailer Use at Retail's Big Show

The Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) will bring innovative and cutting-edge technologies that retailers use every day to the forefront at Retail’s BIG Show.

The ARTS Pavilion (booth 3939), a showcase of retail solutions based on ARTS Open Standards, will open Monday, January 13, 2014 on the EXPO Floor at NRF’s 103rd Annual Convention and EXPO at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

ARTS will feature presentations on upcoming ARTS standards such as the new Data Warehouse and Operations Models, as well as Change for Charity, supporting charitable giving at point-of-sale, Price Service Interface, for consistent pricing regardless of channel, and Location Services, offering support for mapping and way finding to and in stores. Other presentations and demos will focus on UnifiedPOS 1.14 and Web Services POS (WS-POS) 1.2, both released in 2013.

This year’s Pavilion will feature integration demonstrations and individual demos of mobile, social and data management technologies presented by 16 exhibiting vendors from North and South America, Asia and Europe. ARTS representatives will also be available to explain how retailers can use ARTS standards to implement mobile and social applications and improve their customer data and relationship management.

The featured integration demo showcases are from Cumulus Data Services and Trevarian (real-time digital receipt and supplier replenishment portal with the ARTS Data Warehouse and Digital Receipt schema), Bizerba and EPSON (device interoperability at the point-of-sale with the ARTS UnifiedPOS standard), Digital Donations and PCMS (charitable giving at the point of service with the ARTS Change for Charity standard) and ARTS partners OPOS Japan and DNR (connecting peripheral devices to a mobile phone to create a virtual POS using ARTS Web Services POS 1.2).

Demos of individual, standards-based applications will be shown by DMA (tax solutions), flexReceipts (digital receipts), iCiX (vendor and compliance management), MicroStrategy (customer loyalty analytics), Pierhouse (signage, ticketing and digital shelf labels), Prism Skylabs (customer video analytics), RHISCOM (automated regression testing for POS), SAP (integrated point-of-sale based on ARTS standards), and Teradata (cloud-based customer data management).

The Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS), a division of the National Retail Federation, is a retailer-driven international membership organization. ARTS was established in 1993 to develop best practices, technology standards and educational programs through collaboration and partnerships that will enable retailers, their vendors and suppliers to conduct business globally. ARTS standards, products and programs are dedicated to fostering innovation and increasing retailer efficiency.
