The pair will work on fundraising initiatives in order to support communities through the power of skateboarding.
Spin Master has embarked on a mission to help better communities across the US through the power of skateboarding.
The toy firm’s Tech Deck brand has teamed with the Street League Skateboarding Foundation in order to create fundraising opportunities to support the charity in its mission to build free, public skate plazas.
Tech Deck has partnered with some of the biggest skate companies in the world across previous years, including Element, Plan B, Enjoi and more and has had a large presence in the championing of grass-roots efforts in the sport.
As part of its new partnership, Tech Deck and SLSF will launch the first public fundraising campaign. The funds raised will assist with building and maintaining skateboarding parks as well as creating educational programmes and events to encourage kids into the sport.
“At Tech Deck, we believe you need to start small to go big and we’re thrilled to help SLSF as they look to go big with their mission to improve communities through skateboarding,” said Ben Gadbois, global president and chief operating officer, Spin Master.
“We greatly admire the work that SLSF has done to date and encourage everyone to participate.”
Josh Friedberg, executive director of the SLS Foundation, added: “Along with the fun it provides and myriad physical benefits, the very act of skateboarding instills creativity, perseverance and confidence in kids.
“The communities that are created around skate parks reverberate throughout the neighbourhoods and cities they occupy, making the world a better place and we couldn’t be happier to share that vision with Tech Deck.”
Tech Deck will now host a digital fundraiser as well as have a presence at the remaining SLS events where fans can participate in raffles and win prizes.
