UK-based food company Wrights Food Group has introduced meatball marinara lattice with Italian flavour in the ready-to- eat product category.
The new lattice, which comes in Mediterranean flavour, adds a unique twist to the classy savoury slice, offering an Italian cuisine at heart with the convenience of 'grab and go' wrap.
The lattice is wrapped in golden puff pastry and the savoury slice is filled with seasoned meatballs and Gruyère cheese, all of which is soaked in rich tomato sauce.
Wrights Food Group food development head Sue Gwilliam said: "Our meatball marinara lattice was taste-tested by our new product development team in our dedicated food innovation suite, to ensure it exceeds customer expectations."
"The recipe was developed using quality beef and authentic Italian herbs. We also added pockets of melted cheese to give the rich tomato sauce a savoury kick."
Gwilliam said that the product was developed keeping in mind the busy schedules of employees of today who prefer on the go lunches, with minimal or no time for lunch break. Consumers can grab quite bite while on the move and keep themselves satiated.
Gwilliam added that since eating habits have changed with a shift in culture, the product has been developed to fill in the gap.
Wrights Food Group currently offers slice ranges such as chicken and mushroom, peppered steak, chicken and ham steak, and a burger bar. It also offers meat-free slices such as classic cheese, onion, and creamy vegetables.
The company also has a retail chain located at Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe where it offers its meatball marinara slice.
The company offers its selection range throughout England and Wales and also to convenience stores, service restaurants, independent bakery shops, and coffee shops.
